Lot 256. Muhammad Ali Autographed July 26, 1971 “Sports Illustrated.” Ali placed a mint 9 signature next to his superb portrait on the cover of this issue. Kevin Keating authenticated the autograph. A JSA Auction Letter of Authenticity is also provided; it can be exchanged at a discount for a full JSA LoA. A Tex Maule article asserts that Ali seems to have little interest in his upcoming fight with Jimmy Ellis. Nevertheless, Ali scored a TKO to capture the vacant North American Boxing Federation heavyweight championship. Winning Bid $225.
