Lot 77. Tommy John’s Signed NY Yankees 1986 Game-Used Spring Training Road Uniform. A non-roster free agent at the Yankees spring training camp in 1986, John was give No. 65 to wear. Don Baylor wore John’s traditional No. 25. John signed the jersey, which has “85,” for the year, sewn into the collar. During the regular 1985 season, no one wore No. 65. A game-worn Yankees cap, although possibly not from 1986, accompanies the jersey. John signed the bill of the cap, which shows extensive use and has “T.J. 25” on the underside of the bill. The autograph is nm-m 8. Pants and a jacket are also included. The pants, Wilson size 38, may have been used by John in spring training. One of John’s undershirts definitely was used at some point during his career. An unused Yankees size Large jacket is a store model. Autographs authenticated by Kevin Keating. LoA from John.
