Tommy John’s Signed NY Yankees 1986 Game-Used Spring Training Home Uniform.
Lot 76. Tommy John’s Signed NY Yankees 1986 Game-Used Spring Training Home Uniform. Granted free agency after the 1985 season, John joined the Yankees as a non-roster player at spring training in 1986. His traditional number, 25, belonged to Don Baylor. John was assigned No. 65. This game-worn jersey has no tags. John autographed it; his signature is mint 9. For spring training, John was given pants worn by Clay Christiansen in 1985. A tag in the waist identifies the pants as Christiansen’s for 1985. His name is crossed out, and John’s is printed in marker. The jersey and pants are nm. They are accompanied by an autographed cap that John wore sometime during his years with the Yankees and a Yankees light-weight jacket not issued by the team. The cap is well used. The autograph on the bill is nm-m 8, and on the jacket, mint 9. Also included is a game-used undershirt, an Adidas lightweight jacket and an Adidas sleeveless sweater. No. 25 became available before the beginning of the season when the Yankees traded Baylor to Boston. Autographs authenticated by Kevin Keating. LoA from John. MB $100. Winning Bid $429.
