Game-Used Autographed Bat

  1 Lot

Lot 380.  Bill Madlock Game-Used Adirondack 184D Bat with His Signature. Madlock has Rodney Dangerfield tendencies. Like the comic’s claim, he doesn’t get a great deal of respect, even though he won National League batting titles in 1975, 1976, 1981 and 1983. No doubt his clubhouse attitude has something to do with it. Nevertheless, he won the first two titles with the Cubs, and the last two, with the Pirates. A three-time All-Star who played on three championship teams, he concluded his career with 2008 hits and a .305 average. The 1980-82 Adirondack 302 Pro Ring black bat shows use on the barrel, which has a partial crack on the back. Madlock played in the majors through 1987. His uniform number is on the knob in marker. On the front of the barrel, to the right of the Adirondack logo, is a label with Madlock’s autograph. Kevin Keating authenticated the signature.
