Lot 287.  Pittsburgh Steelers Collection of Autographs, Memorabilia and Books. The autographs, including Bill Cowher, Joey Porter and Myron Cope, are on two mini-helmets, a seat cushion, a cap, game-used gloves and a license plate. One mini-helmet has the signatures of Cowher, Tommy Maddox, K (Kendrick) Clancy, Joe Porter and Tee Martin. The other, a bank, presents the autographs of Dewayne Washington, Jeremy Staat, Travis Davis, Courtney Hawkins and four others. The autographs average nm-m 8. More than 40 Steelers from 1997-98 signed a logo cap, including Myron Cope, Deshea Townsend, Donta Jones, Josh Miller, Kris Brown, Troy Sadowski and Kordell Stewart. Cope’s autograph is large and stands out boldly. The signatures average nm 7. A Steelers license plate is signed by Stewart, Alan Faneca, Mark Bruener and Brown. Nm-m 8. A seat cushion with the Steelers’ logo presents the signatures of Maddox, Kent Graham, Schneck, Miller, Jermane Tuman, Brown, Alexander, Scott, Hines Ward, Cowher, Washington, Matt Cushing and Bruener. Ex-m 6 to nm 7 signatures. Chad Scott and Mike Vrabel signed gloves that appear to be game-used. Two Hall of Fame mugs, each depicting four Steelers, and a Super Bowl XL mug are part of the collection; Jeff Reed and Chris Hoke signed the Super Bowl mug. Three beer cans, including one with the 1979 team and one with the 1980 team, are included; vg. The collection includes: A lapel pin set of five commemorating each Pittsburgh Super Bowl win; mint in the original box. A 2008 media guide, vg. Myron Copes’s “Double Yoi!” book, 2002, ex-m book and dust jacket. Dan Rooney’s biography, 2007, ex-m book and jacket. A mini helmet. And a Super Bowl XIV “Luv Ya Black & Gold” felt banner, which has a small helmet attached; vg+ to ex.

Lot 288.  Pittsburgh Steelers Collection: Autographs, Team Stat Sheets, Mugs, a Program and More. Tremendous collection for Steelers fans. Late 1970s-Early 1980s Autographs: Lynn Swann signed 5” x 7” b&w photo; nm 7 signature. Sixteen additional nm-m 8 signatures on 3” x 5” or larger lined notebook paper - Chuck Noll, Mel Blount, Jack Lambert, Ron Johnson, Craig Wolfley, Cliff Stoudt, Willie Taylor, Rollie Dotsch, Gary Dunn, Tom Graves, Rocky Bleier, Roy Gerela, Randy Grossman, Benny Cunningham, Greg Hawthorne and J. T. Thomas. 21st Century Autographs: A lifetime supply of Veron Haynes signed 8” x 10 color photos – more than 175 of them! Program: Sept. 23, 1973 vs. Browns, home game, cover loose, otherwise vg-ex. Team-Issued Statistics: Twenty-four pages of statistics and play-by-play on 8.5” x 14” pages for the Sept. 23, 1973 Browns game and the Dec. 9 Houston game. Steelers Mugs: Five of them, all different. A glass mug commemorates the Steelers’ 1975 Super Bowl triumph, and two, the 1979 Super Bowl. One ceramic mug lists the results of the 1974 season and Super Bowl IX (1975), while another shows Three Rivers Stadium and honors Pittsburgh as the “City of Champions.” Nm. This group has excellent potential break-up value.

Lot 341.  Scarce 1940s Chesterfield Cigarettes Original 11” x 21” Football Display Advertisement. In this bright and colorful lithograph on thick paper, 11 players wear jerseys that spell out “They Satisfy.” The ad has a 3” tear and several shorter tears that extend in from an edge. It displays is a manner that – satisfies!

Lot 342.  Scarce Original Movie Poster for “Crazylegs,” the 1953 Elroy Hirsch Movie. This 14” x 36” poster featuring the Hall of Fame receiver is considerably less common than a couple of other versions. Hirsch played himself in the low-budget movie, which focused on his college career. The poster pictures members of the champion 1951 Los Angeles Rams, including Les Richter, Don Paul and Tom Fears. It has four horizontal folds as issued, eight pin holes, some creases and edge tears and a small hole in the upper right. With bright colors and four images of Hirsch, it displays well and will make a fine addition to room devoted to sports in general or football specifically.

Lot 343.  Beautiful Early 1900s Harvard Full-Sized Pennant. Ex-m 28” pennant with 4” tassels has a football player with reeded thigh pads carrying a melon football. Showing some cracking on the letters and graphics, the pennant is free of pin holes.

Lot 344.  Spalding 1920s or Somewhat Later Model 2FH “Foam Crown” Football Helmet. The adult-sized model looks much like a traditional leather helmet. What makes it unusual is a plastic shell beneath the leather. A suspension model, it has an intact chinstrap. The Spalding logo is on the front and back. The brown leather shows cracks, and there are some indentations in the “foam crown.” Vg, and unusual.

Lot 345.  Thos. E. Wilson 1920s Leather Football Helmet with Supersized Dog-Ears. “Bloodhound” would have been a good name for this full-sized model. The batting inside is age-soiled and intact, and the chin strap is absent. Originally what appears to have been a quality, advanced model, this helmet shows good use, but not abuse. The Wilson logo is on the back. It will make an excellent, offbeat addition to a leather helmet display.

Lot 346.  Circa 1930s Rawlings 29 Leather, Suspension Football Helmet. Complete with a chin strap, this black helmet will fit an adult-sized small head. It shows some flaking on the surface, piping and back-to-front center strip. The suspension is intact with the owner’s name added.

Lot 347.  1920s Green Bay Packers Photo Showing 6 Players. Sepia 3” x 4.25” photo of six players in uniform, three with what appear to be friction jerseys. Vintage steel tip fountain pen on the back identifies the photo as “Green Bay Professionals.” Curly Lambeau formed the Packers while working for the Indian Packing Company in 1919. The team joined the National Football League in 1921. Ex photo with somewhat light contrast and sharp focus.

Lot 348.  2 Vintage Celluloid Football Dolls. A 14” doll with a cloth body and celluloid head displays a University of Pennsylvania 1.25” button. The doll’s chin is indented; otherwise, ex. No. 5 is on the back. A 4.5” doll, with “Made in Japan” as part of the celluloid body, has a 1.25” Army button. The doll’s arms are loose but still attached; otherwise, ex-m with No. 4 on the back.

Lot 349.  Steel 1960s NFL Toes-Up Bobbing Head-Type Figure. From a factory in the Chicago area, this 5.5” figure, which weighs close to three pounds, may have been used in the manufacture of the actual bobbles. In any case, even without a metal head that is not on a spring, it makes for an interesting display and conversation piece.
