Lot 152. 1888 N172 Old Judge Fred “Sure Shot” Dunlap SGC-Graded 60 EX 5. The card identifies Dunlap as “Capt., Pittsburghs.” The pose is interesting, the photo contrast is sharp and the back is clean. Dunlap was one of the best players of the 1880s. In fact, in 1910, Al Spink wrote that “Fred Dunlap was far and away the greatest second baseman that ever lived.” SGC dates the card as 1887, but it’s an 1888 example.
