Lot 57. PSA/DNA-Authenticated Johnny Bench Game-Used Bat from Tommy John’s Collection. This uncracked 1977-79 Hillerich & Bradsby B278 bat shows excellent use, including several ball marks and stitch impressions on the left and back barrel. There are red and green bat rack marks on the front, right and left barrel and handle, which has light traces of pine tar. Bench’s No. 5 is written in black ink on the top of the barrel. The 35.5” ash bat weights 32.7 ounces and is flame burned. The back has two mounting holes that could easily be repaired, and the knob has been lightly sanded. The bat comes with a Letter of Authenticity from both PSA/DNA and Tommy John. Winning Bid $711.
