Tommy John 1978 Los Angeles Dodgers World Series Home Jersey and Other Equipment.
Lot 1. Tommy John 1978 Los Angeles Dodgers World Series Home Jersey and Other Equipment. This Goodman & Sons size 44 World Series-used jersey is adorned with the No. 19 patch that the Dodgers wore to honor Jim Gilliam, their coach who died only two days before the championship competition began. While lacking tags, it shows good use, including some game stains on the front. John’s No. 25 is on the front and back, where his name also appears. His jackets, a hat, shoes, pants and undershirt accompany the jersey. Except for the pants, John wore them in Dodgers’ games between 1972 and 1978. Exact seasons are uncertain. Two jackets are included, one lighter and one heavier. The lighter jacket, which has “25” and “T. John” in marker on a label in the collar, shows significant use. John autographed the front with an nm-m 8 signature. The heavier jacket, size 48 by Goodman & Sons, shows light use, including stains on the left sleeve. John’s name is on the back. John also autographed a Dodgers cap and a pair of shoes. The signature on the bill of the cap is nm-m 8; “T.J.” and “#25” are on the underside in marker. The signatures on the Riddell spikes grade 9-10. This collection also includes John’s blue leather belt, four game-used undershirts with royal-blue sleeves and an unsigned pair of Puma shoes. The Goodman size 40 home pants are not game-worn. John will autograph the jersey, personalize the signature and add up to five notations if requested. It all comes with a Letter of Authenticity from John; the letter will specify that the jersey was worn in the World Series. Winning Bid $2,796.
