Eppa Rixey Autographed 3” x 5” Unlined Index Card.
Lot 62. Eppa Rixey Autographed 3” x 5” Unlined Index Card. Rixey was popular with fans during his 13 seasons with Cincinnati. Before the Reds traded for him in 1920, he pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1912 through 1920. He won at least 20 games four times and lost more than 20 twice. Among National League left-handed pitchers, only Warren Spahn won more games. He ranks 10th in victories among all lefties. Rixey was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1963. One month later, he died of a heart attack before his HoF induction. His autograph is nm-m 8 within a toned area on the card. It appears that his signature may have been covered by tape, which came loose and left a very collectible autograph. Authenticated by Kevin Keating. Winning Bid $75.
