Lot 48. 2 “Perfect Game” Posters Signed by 84 Baseball Prospects – Fernandez, Winston, Baez, Etc. These 18” x 24” posters were signed at the 2010 and 2011 Perfect Game All-American Classic contests played at the San Diego Padres’ Petco Park. They contain the photos and autographs of 84 high school baseball stars who competed as members of East and West teams. Two players stand out – JOSE FERNANDEZ and JAMEIS WINSTON. In 2013, Fernandez was chosen as the N.L. Rookie of the Year after posting a 12-6 record and 2.13 ERA for the Florida Marlins. He finished third in the Cy Young voting. In 2014, an arm injury cut his season short, and he underwent Tommy John surgery. He expects to by ready to play by mid-June. Also in 2013, Winston became the youngest player to earn football’s Heisman Trophy as he guided Florida State to a perfect season and the national championship. Fernandez’ signature is nm-m 8, and Winston’s, mint 9. They signed separate posters. The 2010 poster has 38 autographs, and the 2011, 46. Authenticated by Kevin Keating, the signatures are nm-m 8 and better. Two other signers have made it to the majors. Javier Baez played second base and shortstop for the Cubs in 2014, and Daniel Norris made his pitching debut for the Blue Jays on Sept. 5, 2014.
