Ken Caminiti Signed ONL Leonard Coleman Baseball.

Lot 44. Ken Caminiti Signed ONL Leonard Coleman Baseball. Caminiti had Hall of Fame potential that was continuously mitigated by an addiction to intoxicants. In 1996, his best season, he was the N.L. MVP, an All-Star, a Silver Slugger and a Gold Glove fielder at third base for the San Diego Padres. He hit 40 home runs, drove in 130 runs and batted .326. Later, he acknowledged the use of steroids that season and in subsequent years. In 15 seasons, he played in 140 or more games only six times. He concluded his career with 239 home runs, 983 RBI and a .272 batting average. On Oct. 10, 2004, at the age of 41, he died of a speedball (cocaine and heroin) overdose. Caminiti’s autograph on a panel is mint 9. The ball is toned, somewhat unevenly, to a cream to light tan color. “SD,” apparently for “San Diego,” is stamped on the sweet spot. Authenticated by Kevin Keating. Winning Bid $30.
