Both the hardback and softcover versions of The Babe Ruth Story are present. “As told to Bob Considine,” the 1948 book is promoted as “My only Authorized Story.” The hardcover is a g+ to vg ex-library copy with the g-vg cover in Mylar adhered to the book. The 96-page softcover, a stated first edition, is vg-ex with a small stain and scuff and minor creases on the cover and clean vg+ to ex pages except for tape marks on the first title page. The Real Babe Ruth by Dan Daniel, 1963 second edition, is a 162-page nm-m extensively illustrated softcover that has been hardbound between orange boards. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research, a non-profit membership organization open to all that fosters the research, preservation, and dissemination of the history and record of baseball.
