Lot 94. Steve Carlton Signed 11” x 14” Photo, 1997 Perez-Steele “Great Moments” Card. Both autographs are gem mint 10s. The card is nm-m, and the color photo is ex-m with light corner creases. If Carlton wasn’t baseball’s best left-handed pitcher ever, few others have a stronger case. Among lefties, only Warren Sphan won more games than Carlton, and only right-hander Nolan Ryan struck out more batters. In addition, he won four N.L. Cy Young Awards even though he was not well liked among the writers who made the selection. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 1994.
