2 1940s Rittgers Baseball Figures – Batter and Pitcher.
Lot 172. 2 1940s Rittgers Baseball Figures – Batter and Pitcher. Humorous baseball figures with the batter standing about 7 7/8” tall and wearing a red cap and a gray uniform with red piping and a blue “N” and “4.” He seems to have a larger left forearm than other examples we’ve seen. The pitcher, about 7 ½” tall, has a blue hat and white uniform with blue piping and a red “A” and blue “7.” The left leg of the batter has been repaired, and he shows a couple of tiny chips each on his cap and neck. He has a label for distributor Maurice A. Love of Buffalo on the bottom of his left shoe. The pitcher shows repairs to his right leg, some hairline cracks and small scuffs, and a chip on his right ear and jaw. Each figure has a 1941 Rittgers copyright impressed on the right shoe. Nice collector examples that display well.
Minimum Bid $50.
