Lot 170. Late 1940s Comic Book Ads Featuring Musial, Feller, Ennis and Stanky. Stan Musial promotes Winthrop shoes, Bob Feller endorses Popsicles (Popsicle Pete) and Del Ennis and Eddie Stanky praise Wheaties, which provides “a swell start for the day” for Ennis. The Ennis ad has a border tear that reaches slightly into a blank area of the ad. The other ads are clean and free of significant defects; the borders may have stains, tears or both. A separate page credits Abner Doubleday with laying out the first baseball diamond and has drawings of Wagner, Speaker, Ruth, Gehrig, Young and Cobb.
