Lot 8. 1916 M101-4 Blank-Backed Card #30 Ray Chapman. On Aug. 17, 1920, Chapman became the first major leaguer killed in an on-field incident when he was struck by a pitch from Carl Mays of the Yankees. The card is slightly short, by 1/16”, left to right. Otherwise, ex+.

Lot 14. 2 1949 Bowman Error Cards – Reese, Hermanski with Double-Printed Backs. The fronts of the cards are of #36 Pee Wee Reese and 20 Gene Hermanski. The backs are printed with information on the player shown on the front and another player as well. The back of the Reese card is double-printed with information on #108 Ken Heintzelman. The back of the Hermanski card has information on him and #92 Willie Jones. The card fronts are very well centered; the backs are slightly miscut. The Reese card grades vg, and the Hermanski is cut short and otherwise nm-m.
