Lot 160. One Partial and One Complete Vintage British Motorcycle Racing Sets. The partial set, “Famous Dirt-Track Riders,” was issued in 1929 by Ogden’s Cigarettes. Twelve of the 25 cards in this very popular issue are present, and they average ex. The complete set, “Speedway Riders,” was issued in 1937 by Player’s Cigarettes. It’s a beautiful nm set of 50. It includes two members of the Motorcycle Hall of Fame, Cordy Milne, 1930s U.S. Speedway champion, and Jack Milne, 1937 Speedway world champion, the first from the U.S. The “Speedway Racing” set features colorful fronts with outstanding portraits of the racers and descriptive backs. It books for about $100.
