1916 M101-4 Blank Back #26 Jimmy Callahan Graded 50 VG-EX 4 by SGC.
Lot 35. 1916 M101-4 Blank Back #26 Jimmy Callahan Graded 50 VG-EX 4 by SGC. Better known as “Nixey,” Callahan answers the question: “Who pitched the first no-hitter in the American League.” He did so in 1902. As a pitcher, he completed 169 of 177 starts, and won 99 of them. As a position player, as well as pitcher, he batted .273 lifetime, including .292 as a third baseman in 1903. He managed the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1916 and 1917. The card is nicely centered and clean, front and back, without any obvious crease, unless it’s tiny and in a corner. Looks as if it could just as easily be ex.
Winning Bid $55.
