Lot 1.  Background Color Variation 1909-11 T206 Cards of Charley Carr, Indianapolis. One card of Carr has an orange background, while the other has a red background. In addition, on the card with the red background, there is additional red on Carr’s lips, and his hairline is slightly altered. The red background card grades poor with a f-g front and heavy back damage. The orange background card is p-f with a g+ front and minor damage and a large stain on the back.

Lot 2.  4 Different 1909-11 E254 Colgan’s Chips Stars of the Diamond. This issue turns up infrequently. Includes Devlin p, McCormick vg, Raymond g-vg and Woods f.

Lot 3.  1915 PC798-6 Crosby-Signed “Baseball” Comic Postcard. The cards in this set apparently feature early cartoons by Percy Crosby, who later created the “Skippy” comic strip. This single example from the 12-card set is “He Made a Hit and Got Two Bags.” Postmarked in 1915, it has an embossed border and is vg. Note: There is one card in this lot. The “6” in the headline is part of the American Card Catalog designation!

Lot 4.  3 Postcards of Fenway Park Including a Pre-Linen. Published by Mason Bros., the mid-1910s pre-linen card is titled “Section of Grand Stand, Fenway Park, Boston, Mass.” It shows primarily the grandstand from the third base side. Vg. Also, a linen aerial view from the first base side, #B54, has a border only on the bottom, vg+ to ex and mailed in 1951, and an oversized chrome simply titled “Boston,” vg+ to ex. Fenway Park opened in 1912.

Lot 5.  2 Stadium Postcards – Shibe Park-Connie Mack Stadium. Pre-linen 1910s titled “Shibe Park Baseball Grounds, Philadelphia, Pa.,” shows third base side infield and grandstand, vg. Chrome of Connie Mack Stadium, from first base, PH1-105, postmarked 1958, vg.

Lot 7.  Eppa Rixey 1925 Exhibit Card. Excellent portrait of the Hall of Fame pitcher. G. Looks much nicer.

Lot 8.  1929-30 R315 Card of Hall of Fame Yankees Pitcher “Herbie” Pennock. The card has ex corners and a very light crease that is visible on the back.

Lot 9.  1929-30 R315 Card of Cubs Hall of Fame Center Fielder Hack Wilson. Vg-ex.

Lot 10.  19 Different 1936 R313 National Chicle Fine Pen Premiums Including HoF Players. This collection includes Berger vg-ex, Blanton g, Bonura ex, Chapman ex, Rip Collins ex-m, Cronin vg-ex, Crossetti (Crosetti) f-g, Cuyler and Hartnett ex+, Derringer vg, Dietrich vg, Hartnett and Warnecke (Warneke) p, Hudlin vg, Lucas f-g, Meyer (Myer) g, McQuinn and Stine f, Randy Moore vg-ex, Padden ex, Simmons g-vg and Young g. The cards of Chapman, Crosetti, Cuyler and Hartnett, Derringer, Myer and Simmons have rub-off images of insects on the blank backs; the card of Dietrich has multiple dates stamped on the back. The grades for these cards do not take these conditions into account.

Lot 11.  1936 R314 Goudey Wide Pen Premium Type 1 of of HoF Shortstop Arky Vaughan. G-vg with creases along the top and bottom borders and another above Vaughan’s left shoulder.

Lot 12.  5 1936 R314 Goudey Wide Pen Premiums. All are Type 1: Harris g-vg, Kuhel g-vg, Newsom f-g, Rolfe f and Walker vg-ex.

Lot 13.  1940 R335 Play Ball Cards of #168 Honus Wagner and #176 Heine Manush. At first glance, the Wagner card has a vg-ex appearance, but closer examination reveals three smalls tears, 1/8” or less, along the right border. The card is free of creases. F+, and attractive. The Manush card has strong corners and a relatively heavy vertical crease. G.

Lot 15.  1956 Topps #30 Jackie Robinson. G+ to vg card with vg+ corners, excellent color and gloss, decent centering and three light creases on the front.
