Lot 49. 25 Detroit Tigers Programs and Yearbooks, 1948-84. The earliest of the publications is the 1948 Tiger Feats, a 64-page record booklet by Billy Evans, the Tigers’ general manager and former major league umpire. Vg cover with light creases, ex-m contents. Lot 50. Boston Braves 1950 Program, 2 1947 Braves Bulletins. The unscored program is for a game with the New York Giants. Twelve pages plus the covers. An article inside is titled “Sain and Spahn Aim to Better Mound Performances.” Both are pictured. The front cover, which is detached, features outstanding graphics. Vg contents. The March 1947 Bulletin is g-vg, and the June issue, ex. Each has four pages. The March issue includes the team roster and pictures Spahn, Sain, Tommy Holmes, Mort Cooper and 12 others. There also is a team photo that includes Billy Southworth.

Lot 51. 1952 New York Giants Yearbook with Cover Art by Willard Mullin. Leo Durocher is on the cover, and inside are such stars as Mays, Irvin, Dark, Thomson and Wilhelm. This copy was folded vertically and has a couple of inoffensive stray red crayon marks on the front cover. Displays well with generally an ex appearance.

Lot 52. 11 1950s Major League Scorecards Plus a 1954 White Sox Yearbooks. 1952: White Sox at Red Sox, scored, f-g (pages ex), one-fourth of back cover missing. 1953: Four programs, all Indians, two vs. Red Sox, two vs. A’s, all scored for different games, vg. All have the July-Aug. Indian News inside with photos of Mantle, Jackie Robinson and others. 1954: Tigers at Yankees, lineup changes noted, 1 ½” spine split, vg. 1956: A’s at Orioles, scored, g, color added to front and back cover, minor writing on back cover. 1957: Braves at Cubs, heavy vertical fold, g-vg. 1958: Giants at Phils, scored, date and score written on front cover, otherwise vg-ex. 1959: Two, both Giants at Phils, scored, date and score written on front cover, otherwise vg to vg-ex. The 1954 White Sox yearbook is g+ to vg with a chip at the bottom of the spine. Also, as a bonus, a 1967 Tigers yearbook, g+ to vg.

Lot 54. Kansas City Athletics 1955 Inaugural Series and 1961 Programs. The Athletics played their first two games on April 12 and 13 at home against Detroit. The 36-page program is unscored and could be for either game. Among the stars in the pre-printed lineup are Kuenn and Kaline for the Tigers and Power and Zernial for the A’s. The program cover is largely detached, has tape along the spine, and there is a 1” chip out of the back. The pages are intact and vg-ex. The 1961 program is for a game with Los Angeles. New Hall of Fame member Joe Gordon is pictured as the Athletics’ manager. Scored and vg-ex.

Lot 56. Orioles and Ripken Publications, ALCS Programs, Interleague Commemorative. This collection of six includes a 1994 Baltimore yearbook, the 1995 Cal Ripken Jr. Official Commemorative, and the hardcover 1994 Cleveland Indians yearbook for the inaugural season at Jacobs Field. All are mint. The A.L. Championship Series programs are for 1985, Royals vs. Blue Jays, and 1998, Indians vs. Yankees, both nm-m. The May-June 1997 Cubs Quarterly marks the beginning of interleague competition and is accompanied by a special scorecard for the Cubs’ series with the Brewers. Both are nm-m and housed in a special commemorative envelope, which is g-vg.

Lot 65. Forbes Field 60th Birthday 1909-1969 Pittsburgh Pirates Picture Album. This 32-page magazine-format publication is loaded with historic sepia photos that feature Pirates players and teams. In includes reproductions of panoramas from the early 1900s. Bonus: In addition, there are two 8” x 10” reproduction sepia photos showing aspects of the ballpark’s construction.
