Lot 130. 1935 Bismarck, ND, National Semi-Pro Champs Reprint Photo with Satchel Paige. "That was the best team I ever saw; the best players I ever played with. But who ever heard of them?" That’s how Paige remembers the 1935 Bismarck team, which was assembled by Neil Churchill, a local car salesman. Besides Paige, the integrated team included Barney Morris, Hilton Smith, Double Duty Radcliffe, Red Haley and Quincy Trouppe from the Negro Leagues. Unsurprisingly, the team went undefeated for the entire 1935 season, winning the first Semi-Pro National Baseball Championship at Wichita, Kansas. Lot 146. Photos of Connie Mack Stadium, Trader Speaks “Type Set,” Bill Terry Coaster. Three 8” x 10” b&w photos capture Connie Mack Stadium in its final days in 1976. One shows it just before the start of demolition, and two more as deconstruction progresses. Ex.
