Lot 154. 1950 Osborne Co. Baseball Calendar with Sportsman’s Park, Burke Photos. Outstanding 16” x 33 ½” unused calendar full of baseball history. Below a 15” x 11” color photo of game action at Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis, the calendar lists such information as A.L. and N.L. champions for 1901-49, the final standings for 1949, “All-Time Major League Player Records,” MVP Award winners, All-Star Game results, and RBI and pitching leaders for 1920-49. There also are Burke and Conlon photos of the starting players for the 1949 All-Star Game. The calendar promotes the Gibson Company of Kalamazoo, MI. It is rolled in the original mailing tube, shows some small creases and minor edge tears, and there is rust on the two staples that hold the original monthly calendar pages in place. Displays beautifully with excellent character!

Lot 155. 1957 Calendar with a Baseball Scene. The 8 ½” x 16 ½” calendar has a 7” x 8 ½” scene of kids with baseball bats distributing Watkins vitamins. The Watkins deliveryman and the mother of one or more children are in the background. Calendar pages for March through December are present. Vg-ex appearance with a horizontal crease and a tear in the upper left corner.

Lot 156. 23 Baseball and Sports Hobby Calendars from the 1980s-90s. Many of these calendars feature exceptional artwork. The largest and most dramatic is the 1982 “A Century of Baseball Cards,” a 14 ½” x 22 ¼” behemoth that pictures a wide range of cards from the baseball collection of the late Stan Makowsky, a New York broadcaster. This example is nm-m in the original packaging. Five “Hallowed Ground” calendars, each 17” x 11, picture baseball parks as represented by Andy Jurinko, Bill Purdom and other artists. Ex-m for 1992-95 and 1998. A 1996 “Still Baseball” calendar has baseball still lifes by Bill Williams, nm. Five calendars feature “Great Minor League Baseball Parks,” 1987-91 and ex. Krause Publications is the source of seven calendars, including some duplicates, from the 1990s, nm. Also: The “Play Ball!” 1993 calendar, “The Macmillan Baseball Calendar” for 1981 and 1982, and “Heroes of Baseball” for 1993. Ex-m+.
