Lot 28. 1967 Cleveland Indians Team Ball Signed by 28 Including Wagner, Vidal, Tiant. The signatures are on an nm AOL Cronin baseball. Luis Tiant autographed the top of the north panel; his autograph is ex-m 6. With Tiant on the north panel are Leon Wagner, Pedro Gonzalez, Jose Vidal, Sonny Siebert, Chico Salmon, Joe Azcue and Don Demeter. The other signers are: Jim King, George Strickland, Willie Smith, George Culver, Bill Davis, Ray Fosse and Chuck Hinton on the south; Vern Fuller, Fred Whitefield, Del Rice and Larry Brown on the east, and Duke Sims, Gus Gil, Steve Bailey, Pat Mullin, Steve Hargan, Bob Allen and Max Alvis on the west. The Joe Adcock signature on the sweet spot is clubhouse, and it appears that a signature was removed. Signatures range from vg-ex 4 to nm-m 8. More than half are nm 7 or better, and most of the rest grade ex 5 to ex-m 6. The autographs of Wagner, Vidal and Gonazlez are especially nice. Manager Buck Rodgers signed the sweet spot, and Tim Raines’ signature is at the bottom of the east panel. The other signers are Tim Burke, Bill Campbell, Vance Law, Bob McClure, Jeff Parrett, Alonzo Powell, Jeff Reed, Luis Rivera, Lary Sorensen, Randy St Claire, John Stefero, Tim Wallach, Herm Winningham, Mitch Webster and three coaches, Bobby Winkles, Ken Macha and Ron Hansen. An ONL Feeney ball has Warren Spahn (gem mint 10) on the sweet spot, Stan Musial (ex-m 6 to nm 7) on the south panel and Enos Slaughter (mint 9) on the north. The ball is unevenly toned and may be game-used; all of the printed areas of the ball are intact. The printed areas are largely faded from an OAL MacPhail baseball, which is toned, somewhat unevenly, and may be game-used. The Al Kaline signature on the sweet spot is a large, bold 10. Lot 33. Autographed 8” x 10” Photos of Chas. Gehringer, Frank Crosetti. Gehringer was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1949. Crosetti was an excellent infielder for the Yankees from 1932-48 and then served as a coach for 15 additional seasons. Gehringer passed away in 1993, and Crosetti, in 2002. Lot 34. Mel Harder Autograph on a Vintage 8” x 10 B&W Photo. In 20 seasons with Cleveland, Harder posted a 223-186 record. Only Bob Feller won more games for the Indians. After he retired, he served the Indians as a pitching coach for 16 seasons. In 1990, the team retired his number, 18. He passed away in 2002. His signature is a ballpoint gem mint 10. Lot 35. Travis Jackson Signature on a 1961 Fleer Baseball Greats Card. Mint 9 to gem mint 10 autograph by the clutch-hitting shortstop of the 1920s to mid-1930s New York Giants. A .291 hitter lifetime, Jackson was nicknamed “Stonewall” because of his defensive prowess. The Veterans Committee elected him to the Hall of Fame in 1982. He died in 1987. Lot 36. John “Big Cat” Mize and Enos Country Slaughter Autographs. Interesting forms of their autographs in the 1985 Baseball Hall of Fame Yearbook. Both signed by their photos, and both are gem mint 10s. The 90-page yearbook is nm. Mize passed away in 1993, and Slaughter, in 2002. Lot 37. Gabe Paul Signature on a 1967 Typed Letter on Cleveland Indians Stationery. From the 1950s-1984, Paul served as general manager or president of the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees. He passed away in 1998. He is frequently mentioned as a potential Hall of Fame executive. The letter offers to transmit a signed card to a fan; a notation by the recipient indicates Paul actually sent a signed baseball. Paul’s signature grades mint 9. The letter has one vertical and two horizontal folds and a number of creases. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 38. 6 Signature Cuts Including Luke Easter, Stan Musial and Tom Tresh. The signatures are on sections of paper 1 ½” x 4 and larger. The signers are Luke Easter, Stan Musial, Tom Tresh, Dick Ricketts, Hoot Evers and Johnny Antonelli. Tape residue affects the first four autographs. The residue touches the bottom of “Lu” in Easter’s name; a tiny portion of the “H” and all of the “Ev” in Evers; small parts of the “S” and “l” in Musial's; and the bottom half of “Tom Tresh.” Easter’s name is least affected and will display very nicely.
