Lot 238. Gretzky and Lemieux Highland Mint Photomints with Game-Used Stick Sections. The three items in this collection pay homage to two of hockey’s best players. All are matted and framed in black with 24Kt. gold overlay medallions. 1. Mario Lemieux 8” x 10” entitled “The Comeback,” marking his return to the Penguins on Dec. 27, 2000. Numbered 42 of 1066. 2. Wayne Gretzky photo commemorating his time with the LA Kings, 1988-96. No. 38 of 500. 3. Photos of Gretzky with the Rangers and Lemieux in an 18” x 22” frame marking their enshrinement in the Hall of Fame in 1999 and 1997, respectively. Framed with a piece of a game-used hockey stick from each. No. 34 of 125. This framed duo features a photo of both Gretzky and Lemieux, coins with the Rangers and the Penguins logos and a slice of the “game-used” respective stick of each (measuring approximately ¾” x 1”), numbered 34/125.
