Claude Lemieux’s 1987 Canada Cup Trophy.
Lot 230. Claude Lemieux’s 1987 Canada Cup Trophy. A note on Leland’s letterhead confirms that this 7 ½” x 11” player trophy originally belonged to Lemieux, who appeared in the Canada Cup games only in 1987. That year, Team Canada won the championship, prevailing over Czechoslovakia, Finland, Sweden, the USA and the USSR. Lemieux’s teammates included Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky. The trophy consists of a stylized silver metal half maple leaf, the Canada Cup logo, on a standing walnut plaque. The wood shows a few scratches and wear. A metal plaque centered on the base of the trophy reads “Coupe CANADA Cup.” Player trophies are seldom seen and rarely offered.
Minimum Bid $100.
