Lot 308. 1910 M113 Baseball Magazine Premium of John McGraw. Framed, full-length 10” x 19 ½” image of the Hall of Fame player-manager. He was second only to Connie Mack in total victories. The premium is in poor condition. It has multiple creases and tears. McGraw’s upper body is free of creases. The left side has a 1” x 2” area of paper loss and small punch hole.

Lot 313. House of David Baseball Postcard. Established in Benton Harbor, Mich., in 1903, the House of David formed a baseball team that was barnstorming around the country by 1920. Their barnstorming continued through the late 1930s. In the 1940s, teams participated in weekend semi-pro leagues. This b&w postcard features a catcher in an upright position preparing to throw a baseball. Unused and g-vg.

These pre-war issues are greatly underrated. 1935 Series 1: Paul Dean, William Delancy, Chuck Klein, Gus Mancuso and Pepper Martin. 1936 Series 3: Earl Averill and Buck Newsom. 1936 Series 4: Rollie Hemsley and Arky Vaughan. 1937 Series 6: #3 Zeke Bonura. 1937 Series 7: #29A Zeke Bonura. Some panels are poorly trimmed, and some have pencil marks. All have creases and a punch hole. P-f.
