Lot 145. Michael Jordan Memorabilia – Basketballs, Plates, Watch – and a Bowling Ball! That’s right! Jordan is featured on a standard-sized undrilled AMF bowling ball, designed to resemble a basketball. The ball has a Jordan facsimile autograph, as well as the number “23” on two sides. It is ex-m with a few scratches. Three nm-m Wilson basketballs contain Jordan images. An Ultra Grip Rubber standard ball in the original packaging has two images of Jordan, while a 5 ½” “Best Team Ever 72-10” ball has a photo of the star. An Official Size Basketball Kit, including a ball, water bottle and inflation pump in the original package, shows a single Jordan image. Accompanying them is a Carolina Tar Heels basketball from Cardboard Gold, ex. Wilson is also the source of an analog watch in the original basketball case in the original box. Ex-m watch with Jordan on the face; the case is nm. Upper Deck issued four collectibles in conjunction with other companies: 1. A 1998 set, #1,193 of 2,500, contains a 1 ½” bronze coin of Jordan from the Highland Mint and an oversized Chicago Bulls ring by Balfour. 2-3. With the Bradford Exchange, a 1995 plate, “1991 Championship,” nm-m; a 1996 plate, “Record 72 Wins,” nm-m, and a 1998 plate, “5 Time NBA MVP,” nm. Fourteen publications have Jordan covers. Highlights include: 1-2. Two copies, a large and small edition, of Salt in His Shoes: Michael Jordan in Pursuit of a Dream by Deloris Jordan, 2001, large version ex, small nm-m. 3. The first issue of Beckett Basketball Card Magazine, March-April 1990, ex. 4-5. Two issues paying tribute to Jordan, Beckett in 1993, nm-m, and Sports Illustrated, 1999, nm-m.
