Lot 88. 1956-58 Pittsburgh Pirates Yearbooks. These three yearbooks capture the onset of the Joe L. Brown era, which led to a World Championship for Pittsburgh fans in 1960. The 1956 edition is ex. Roberto Clemente is pictured, as is Dick Groat, Vernon Law, Curt Roberts, Frank Thomas and Roberts’ replacement, Bill Mazeroski. The yearbook for 1957 is vg-ex with some pencil writing on the roster. Bill Virdon is a newcomer, and Bennie Daniels is among the prospects. The 1958 issue, which is vg to vg-ex, features Danny Murtaugh in his first full season as Pittsburgh’s manager. Besides stars such as Clemente, Groat, Roy Face, Law, Bob Friend and Mazeroski, the publication shows Ted Kluszewski, Dick Stuart and Virdon.
