Lot 17.  1905 New York Giants Scorecard Postcard. This more desirable color version, mailed in 1907, has a brief message on the front. Otherwise, it is clean and vg to vg+ with images of Mathewson, McGinnity, Ames, Bowerman, Mertes and Taylor.

Lot 18.  1908-09 PC760 Rose Company Postcard of Ed Karger of the St. Louis Cardinals. Few issues are more attractive than these embossed postcards. This copy was mailed in 1910 to notify a business customer of an impending visit. Extremely desirable vg-ex copy with a ¼” crease to the right of first base. Ex appearance.

Lot 19.  1909 E92 Croft’s Candy Card of Larry Doyle (with Bat). The back of this card is printed in blue, which is scarcer than the black variation. The front is nicely centered and features bold colors. Vg+ to ex.

Lot 20.  1910 D322 Tip-Top Bread Pittsburgh Pirates Barney Dreyfuss (President). From 1900 to 1932, Dreyfuss served as president and general manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was an innovator who created the World Series in 1903 by challenging the Boston Pilgrims, champions of the American League, to a post-season tournament. He also was responsible for building the first modern steel-frame triple-tier ball park, Forbes Field, in 1909. One of the most popular card issues in the hobby, the 1910 Tip-Top Bread Dreyfuss features a portrait of the legendary owner formally attired in suit and tie. Technically p-f due to creases, chipping at two of the corners and a small amount of paper loss on the reverse, the card has vibrant colors and an image of Dreyfuss that is sharp and striking.

Lot 22.  1910 M114 Ty Cobb Baseball Magazine Premium. This premium features the photo of a determined Cobb at bat awaiting a pitch. It is housed in an antique frame. The border has been partially trimmed in order to accommodate the size of the 10” x 15 ½” frame; otherwise ex+. A vintage period Cobb item, and a magnificent display piece, this premium handsomely represents the player who distinguished himself as perhaps the finest to ever play the game.

Lot 23.  1910-11 M116 Sporting Life Tommy Atkins Card from the Scarcer Final 3 Series. This card has the scarcer “Over 300 Subjects” back. Technically g-vg with a vg appearance.

Lot 24.  1911-14 D304 General Baking Card of Jack Barry - Brunners Butter Krust Back. Scarce “type” card of the Philadelphia A’s infielder. Clean vg copy with a light crease at the bill of Barry’s cap.

Lot 25.  1928 St. Louis Cardinals Real-Photo Postcard with Seven Hall of Famers. The sepia Block Bros. postcard features Alexander, Bottomley, Frisch, Hafey, Haines, Maranville and McKechnie. Ex-m with a strong image.

Lot 26.  Scarce 1929 R316 Kashin Album, 11 Cards. Seldom found in any condition, this is the first album of its kind that we have ever offered, or ever seen. Ten of the cards are glued into the album pages. They are, Seibold, Grimes, Harvey Hendrick (2), Dressen, Benton, Bob Smith, Ruel, Hoyt and Klein. The card of Zachery is detached from the album. The cover of the album is brown and “Album of Baseball Stars” appears on its front in gold. Overall both the album and the cards grade p-f.

Lot 27.  1933 Delong #4 Bill Terry. A scarce and desirable pre-war issue. This example of Hall of Famer Bill Terry has a bit of light inoffensive creasing and a stain in the upper right. Strong colors and sharp focus. Vg.

Lot 28.  1933 Eclipse Import Jimmy Fox (Jimmie Foxx). Here’s an opportunity to own the most valuable card from an incredibly rare set. Multiple creases require that it be graded g. The artwork, which is bold with strong and remarkably vibrant colors, makes for a superb image that displays as ex-mt+.

Lot 29.  1933 Goudey #1 Benny Bengough. The nm value of this card in the 2007 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards is $5,500. Vg.

Lot 31.  1939 Play Ball #26 Joe DiMaggio. Fantastic card perfectly centered left to right, 55:45 top to bottom, terrific contrast, sharp focus, snow white borders. There is a small amount of clear tape on the reverse that does not distort the text. Technically the card is g. It displays as ex-m to ex-m+. An absolute beauty!
