Rusty Staub Professional Model Bat from Tommy John’s Collection.
Lot 72. Rusty Staub Professional Model Bat from Tommy John’s Collection. John obtained this uncracked bat directly from Staub during 1978-83. The 34” Adirondack shows good use. The knob has been lightly sanded, apparently after coat of shellac was applied; the model number appears to be 265. The barrel has cleat marks, ball stitch impressions and rack marks. A narrow 6” section of the back has been repaired, and the back has two mounting holes that could easily be repaired. The bat comes with a Letter of Provenance from John. Staub was a solid performer who was selected for the All-Star Game five times in the N.L. and once in the A.L. He was an original member of the Montreal Expos, and the team retired his number in 1993.
Winning Bid $75.
