Lot 279. “Wings” and “Wheels” Collection - 57 Cards. Fifty-one cards are from Topps’ 1952 “Wings” issue, and another six are from the company’s 1953 “World on Wheels.” The “Wings” cards fall into two categories based on condition. The first group consists of cards that average g-vg: #1, 13, 14, 19, 20, 25, 30, 32, 34, 35, 38-40, 43, 44, 47, 48, 58, 63, 66, 69, 70, 78, 84, 169, 186, 194 and 197. In the second category, the “Wings” cards have nice fronts that are generally free of creases and average vg+ to ex; the backs have numbers added: #7, 22, 25, 35, 38, 39, 41, 52-54, 57, 58, 66, 68, 69, 84, 85, 87-89, 91, 94 and 99. The “Wheels” cards are #25, 33, 48, 116, 121 and 153. They grade: Vg-ex: 2 cards. Vg: 4.
