Lot 108. Red Rolfe, Yankees Third Baseman, Autographed Magazine Photo. In fact, in 1969, Rolfe was named the Yankees’ all-time third baseman. He played on six pennant-winning teams, was an All-Star from 1937-39 and batted .289 lifetime. He was only 34 when he retired because of health problems. He served as Dartmouth’s athletic director from 1954-67. He died in 1969. His signature is a mint 9 on a 3” x 3 ¾” magazine photo. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 112. 3 Enos Slaughter Autographs. One is on an 11” x 14” sepia photo that shows him scoring the run the won the 1946 World Series for the St. Louis Cardinals (gem mint 10), one is on a 1995 contract for a card show (a 10) and one is on an unlined index card (mint 9). Slaughter was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1985. He died in 2002. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 113. Hall of Famer Casey Stengel Signed Color Magazine Page. The signature, personalized to “Bill,” grades gem mint 10 on a 7 ¾” x 10 ¾” photo. In 12 seasons in New York, Stengel led the Yankees to 10 pennants and seven World Championships. He died in 1975. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 122. 16 New York Yankees Autographs Including Skowron, Bauer, Etc. Five signatures are on photos ranging from 3 ½” x 5” to about 4” x 6”: Rugger Ardizoia, Hank Bauer, Kevin Maas, Moose Skowron and Jeff Torborg (pers.). Autographs on unlined index cards are by Bauer (3), “Frenchy” Bordagaray, Ron Guidry, Frank Lary, Dennis Sherrill, Bill Short, Charlie Silvera, Hal Stowe and Thad Tillotson. A couple of these players had one-game major league careers. The autographs are 9s and 10s with three grading slightly lower. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 123. Whitey Ford, Moose Skowron and Ralph Terry Autographs. The three New York Yankees stars signed a St. Vincent “Official First Day Cover” for the Baseball Hall of Fame induction dated July 23, 1989. The autographs are nm-m 8 to mint 9. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 126. 9 Autographed 8” x 10” Photos Including Berra, Carlton, Roberts and Spahn. Yogi Berra’s signature is on an 8” x 10” black & white photo that shows him with Mickey Mantle and Ted Williams. Steve Carlton and Robin Roberts share a color photo as Phillies pitching standouts, and Roberts and Warren Spahn share another color glossy as the winningest pitchers of the 1950s. The other signatures are by Dick Allen (color, White Sox), Javi Lopez, John Sain (3, sepia) and Andy Seminick (sepia). The autographs are 10s, and the photos, generally nm or better. Lot 168. Babe Ruth Photos, One from the 1920s and One from 1938. Both are black & white. A 1938 2 ½” x 3 ½” snapshot captures Ruth posing as the “King of Swat” on a float in a parade, possibly in Las Vegas. Ex, small corner crease outside the image area. In the 1920s photo, a candid by Bloch Brothers of St. Louis, Ruth and other Yankees consume baseball-sized ice cream balls. Joe Dugan, Earl Combs, Wilcy Moore and Hank Johnson are among the other Yankees. This 8” x 10” photo is a recent print from an original negative.
